Overview

Hei-Ching Chan (born March 19, 1983 in Hong Kong) is one of the cofounders of the EastHope Hong Kong, a charity group working with Project Hope to enable more children in Anhui in Mainland China to receive elementary education.

Personal Life

Hei-Ching grew up in Hong Kong. He is now a final-year student of The University of Hong Kong, majoring engineering and law.

Hei-Ching is also a founder of The Triple Helix (Hong Kong) Inc, an international inter-disciplinary journal organization of law, science and society involving over 800 students worldwide in over 20 top universities.

Community Service

Having dedicated to community service works for some years, Hei-Ching has recently been honoured with the Outstanding Service Awards for Tertiary Students Award 2007/2008, and the Hsin Chong K. N. Godfrey Yeh Education Fund Award for Joint University Projects.

In summer 2005, he was appointed by Professor Lap-Chee Tsui, the Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong, as one of the nine partners to organize the university's first-ever international service project to raise students' awareness to global equality. He led a team of local and international volunteers to deploy humanitarian efforts in several remote villages in Kullu Valley (the Valley of Gods), Himachal Pradesh, northern India.
