Guidelines

A biography should be the description of a person's life. A narrative is great ("... Then after high school, Stephanie worked at the Red Robin at the Tucson Mall for a few years while trying to figure out what to do with her life.") Resume items are fine too, but we can do better than a biography that is only a resume, can't we? Who a person knows is especially interesting, so a good biography should connect to other biographies.
Don't harm the subject of the biography
A biography must not hurt the basic human dignity of its subject. This is not a forum on which to insult or disparage people. Instead, stick with neutral or positive information. Think twice before adding something that could upset the subject of a biography or their family. Don't put in birth dates, street addresses, telephone numbers or other contact information. Bad people use those things for harm. Be good.
Be Civil
Every biography here has a discussion area attached to it. That's where we, the community, can hash out disagreements about a biography. Please be civil in these dicussions. Assume that others are working in good faith and are trying to do the right thing. Make no personal attacks. Be quick to apologize. If you are getting hurt, angry, or emotional, take time to cool off before responding.
Write the Truth
Write things that are true. Fix what isn't.
Always Improve
Every biography is a work in progress. There is no point when a biography is complete. Every change should make the biography better. It's usually better to fix some text than to delete it.
No Spam
Using the Biographicon to sell something, or drive traffic to your site, or to make affiliate marketing money is slimy. Don't do it. If you see spam, kill it.
No Pornography
If you see it, kill it.
